OLD STONE SHED
This cute little cottage is only 7 km from Carnarvon on the R63 and approximately 1 km from the tarred road. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful karoo koppies with no other buildings in sight.
The Old Stone Shed used to be an old sheep shearing shed and has been converted into a self-catering unit providing a unique experience when staying in the Karoo. Built from stone,the shed has common reed ceilings and is equipped with electricity.
The house is self-catering with the necessary cutlery,bedding and towels being provided.The lounge area has a fireplace to add to the atmosphere and provide extra warmth in the Karoo winters.The bathroom is equipped with a wash basin,flush toilet and a shower with hot water.The unit also has an outdoor shower.
Fires can be made outside in the BBQ/braai area and wood can be bought at the farmhouse. The farmhouse is within walking distance if anything is needed and also has a swimming pool where guests can cool off.
With all the wide open spaces,guests can go for long walks or mountain biking.Sitting outside you will see the incredible star filled Karoo sky at night,a must-see, awe-inspiring sight. This is the ideal place for the guest who want absolute privacy and do not want to hear noisy cars or people,just the absolute quietness of a Karoo farm,surrounded with the veld.
Come and experience the silence and tranquility of the Karoo. Ideal for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers. At night, the star studded clear Karoo sky is as always an unique experience and in the morning you can be awakened by the songs and calls of a wide range of birds.

Driving form Loxton on the R63 tarred road you will see the Osfontein sign on the right hand side at about 30 km. Turn right and after another 7 km on the farm road, you will reach the homestead.
Approaching from Carnarvon with the R63, you will see the Osfontein sign at 33km, turn left to the homestead.
